Aircraft operation type
There are two main types of business aircraft operation: a private one and a commercial one. Private operation (general aviation, or GA) means flights of the aircraft owner and their immediate circle exclusively. Commercial operation provides not only for the owner’s flights, but also for the sales of charter flights to third parties in order to make profit to cover part of aircraft operating costs.
Private operation implies both operation within an airline (a company that has a license to perform commercial air transport operation) and arranging all the necessary procedures related to aircraft operation. Commercial operation implies only operation within an airline.
Aircraft basing
Convenient basing of an aircraft with a view to prompt accessibility for its owner or their representatives is an important issue. BJET will carry out all the procedures necessary for arranging the basing of your aircraft at almost every airport of the Moscow Aviation Hub, as well as in the countries of the CIS and Asia.
Upon the owner’s request, aircraft parking in heated hangars can be arranged. We preliminarily take care of arranging aircraft maintenance at a base airport, which includes preparing the aircraft for takeoff or parking, cabin cleaning, process fluid draining and filling, and more. The company’s engineering service performs repair and/or technical inspections directly in the parking area between flights, which prevents maintenance downtime. The dispatching and financial departments will consummate all contractual arrangements and mutual settlements with the airport administration on behalf of the owner in order to reduce expenditure and obtain various preferences for the company’s total fleet size. When the aircraft stays outside the base airport for a long-term period, the company’s specialists monitor and check its readiness for departure directly at the transit airport, as well as arrive at the parking area for performing additional work, if necessary.
Optimization and centralization of all operating costs at foreign transit airports
BJET offers its comprehensive cost optimization and expenditure control tool, as well as timely payment for all services. This tool represents special-purpose aviation charge cards accepted by many airports. The system is simple and efficient: when planning your flight, our assistant finds out in advance which ground handling company is the most preferable at a given airport, and makes an order. Immediately before departure, the crew provides a charge card for payment. All invoices are sent to the company issuing these cards, which also pays for all the services. At the end of the reporting period (week/month), the company provides a consolidated statement and one consolidated invoice, which is paid by the cardholder company. This unique system allows you to promptly pay all bills for services at transit airports, as well as to have clear control and perspective of all anticipated costs. An additional advantage is the availability of discounts for card servicing at a number of airports, by prior arrangement, which helps significantly cut operating costs.
Aircraft maintenance management
Efficient management of aircraft maintenance both in Russia and abroad, and permanent readiness for departure at any convenient time are a hallmark of an airline’s or a management company’s excellence. This can be achieved provided that the required maintenance is ensured and all technical documentation is constantly monitored. Many companies “save” by refusing to employ their own engineer assigned to an aircraft, relying entirely on maintenance centers, the latter mostly lacking flexibility, which leads to excessive intensity in performing certain works, while the owner deals with financial obligations and aircraft downtime. This can be easily seen when an aircraft arrives for maintenance not accompanied by an engineer, and the maintenance center is in fact left to its own devices.
BJET has chosen to arrange surveillance differently, using assigned engineers who are solely responsible for the technical condition and readiness for departure. The engineer maintains aircraft documentation, performs line maintenance at the base airport, and is present at the maintenance center when performing heavy maintenance checks to personally control the relevance of certain works and purchase of spare parts and consumables. This way of aircraft maintenance allows to reduce maintenance costs by 15-25% compared to operation w/o engineer.
Aircrew
Aircrew plays an important role: skilled pilots are able to masterly and safely fly an aircraft to anywhere in the world. A solid background comprising many years of experience in the business aviation market has allowed BJET to build a pool of the best pilots in Russia and Europe. When necessary, our team can arrange transition training in the leading aviation training centers in Europe or the USA. It is essential and important to trust pilots when performing flights for the owner, which is why aircrew selection and appraisal is carried out jointly with the aircraft owner’s representatives, involving a psychologist and security team as well. An in-house crew is a guarantee of safety, commitment, confidentiality and confidence. Flight attendants are selected and trained the same way as pilots. Due to the fact that it is this staff that contacts with the passenger most of the time during the flight, nice attitude and friendliness are very important here. All flight attendants are selected from among those working on scheduled airline; it is also possible to organize additional training on the basis of Emirates first-class flight attendants. We pay special attention to the professional training of flight attendants: a flight attendant is an integral part of a flight crew, and in the event of an emergency, it is the flight attendant who is responsible for passenger safety and security.
Aircraft insurance
Business aviation flights include flights not only to large international airports, but also to small regional ones, or even airports with unpaved runways. A reliable aircraft insurance partner will reimburse for inevitable breakdowns, aircraft or engines damage. A proper processing of an insured event and preparation of the complete documentation package for the insurance company is the key to receiving funds in full for the repair and spare parts purchase.
Thanks to prior experience working with leading insurance companies in Europe and Russia, BJET had received many premium insurance claim payments, which significantly reduces additional costs in insured events.
Aircraft management
BJET offers professional business class aircraft management services. Most of the services can be jointly defined as operations management, which includes aircraft optimum use planning, taking into account the owner’s plans, maintenance periods and flights for third parties. A team of professional managers supports the flight from the moment an application is received until the end of the flight. Application receipt, costs calculation, requesting and obtaining OVF permits, submitting and passing a flight plan through all communication channels, ordering and approving airport services at the departure and destination airports, delivery of the crew on board, technical preparation of the aircraft for departure, delivery of in-flight catering as per customized menu, meeting the main passenger, flying, meeting the crew and arranging its accommodation – all these stages are controlled down to the minute, and at any given time all the company staff clearly knows what has been done and what still needs to be done, and, most importantly, the deadlines for all stages. It is such a system only that allows to achieve the most efficient aircraft operation while consistently providing the highest-level service to the client.
Financial statements on aircraft operation
As a management company, BJET does separate bookkeeping for each aircraft it manages, which reflects all financial activities related to aircraft operation directly or indirectly. The finance department receives all invoices, reviews them, enters into the appropriate data register and analyzes for validity, justification of expenses and statistics. At the end of the reporting period, the owner receives a comprehensive report detailing all the expenses related to aircraft operation, with all invoices and other documents confirming the expenses attached to the report, as well as a table of annual and monthly expenses broken down by expenditure items.
The financial statements may be provided at any time in full to the owner or their representatives for audit and conformance verification through documentary evidence (copies of receipts, invoices, extracts, etc.). Statistical reports allow for comprehensive analysis of the company’s activities and expenses. Optionally, you can get a complete operation analysis for a year, six months, or a month, analyze direct and fixed costs, calculate the average cost of a flight hour depending on average annual flight time, or check the cost of a particular flight. It is also possible to analyze the expenditure statistics by groups of expenditure categories (i.e. how much was spent on fuel, catering, etc.) and to determine the most costly items. BJET’s financial statements are aimed at ensuring full transparency of aircraft operation and obtaining an accurate perspective for the owner in order to analyze and map out future periods.
